To begin the countdown to this festive season, I’ll be bringing you all new recipes to celebrate with your friends and family!

Let's begin with something sweet, shall we? Sooji Halwa, also known as Semolina Halwa, is a sweet Indian pudding usually made during the festive season and served as an offering to the Gods. Although traditionally it is made with the use of ghee, you can use any light flavoured cooking oil in this recipe of mine to make it a vegan-friendly version.

With the crazy amount of rains we've been having over the past couple of weeks, how could I not whip up a batch of this lip-smacking family favourite?

This Potato Bonda or Aloo Bonda recipe I’m sharing with you today, is a delicious treat to serve as a snack or even an appetizer. Pair it either ketchup or a variety of chutneys on the side for some added zing. In India, these Bondas are also sandwiched between fresh, soft dinner rolls and sold as a very popular street food called Vada-Pav. Potato Bondas are essentially balls of seasoned mashed potato dipped in a spicy chickpea flour batter and deep fried to a crispy texture.

12/15: Today's Iftar special recipe idea is for my Indian-style Keema Pasta, which has ground chicken added to it but you can easily substitute that with other kinds of meat. For a vegan or vegetarian option, skip the meat altogether and bulk up on the vegetables. I’ve even made this recipe using ground soy protein instead and it was equally delicious! For a gluten-free version, simply opt for gluten-free pasta instead.
