Low-fat Methi Matar Malai (Creamy Peas with Fenugreek Leaves)

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp light cooking oil
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp coriander seeds
  • 1 medium-sized onion thinly sliced
  • 4 cups fresh fenugreek leaves roughly chopped
  • salt to taste
  • 1/4 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp garam masala
  • 1 cup frozen peas thawed
  • 1 cup plain yogurt beaten till smooth

Instructions

  • Sauté cumin and coriander seeds in hot oil until they start to sizzle and pop. Add in sliced onions and fry till tender.
  • Add in fenugreek leaves, and fry for a few minutes until they start to wilt.
  • Mix in salt and spices, and then add in peas.
  • Add in the yogurt and stir well for another minute or two, allowing it to simmer for a few minutes.
  • Serve warm with rotis.
