Aloo Tikki Burger (Vegan Potato Burger)

Ingredients

  • 4 medium-sized potatoes boiled and mashed
  • 1 small-sized onion finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoon bread crumbs
  • 2 tablespoon finely chopped fresh cilantro
  • ½ teaspoon red chilli powder
  • ¼ teaspoon garam masala
  • ½ teaspoon chaat masala powder
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • ¼ cup light cooking oil for frying
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • ¼ cup green chutney* (recipe link below)
  • thinly sliced onions and tomatoes

Instructions

  • Mix potatoes, onions, bread crumbs, cilantro, spices, and salt and pepper in a large bowl to combine everything well. Form into four equal-sized circular patties and set aside.
  • Heat oil in a large non-stick frying pan and shallow fry the burgers until brown and crisp on both sides.
  • Spread green chutney on one side of the buns and layer the patties with slices of fresh onions and tomatoes.
