Zak loves to cook them. I make the dough, and he cooks them and makes them bubble up. He loves making them inflate. He and Morganna hover over the wok full of hot oil and watch them turn into puffy little balloons of goodness, and they never cease to exclaim and admire the bread.

It is really cute.

Meena–if you can make puris–you can make bhatura. It is only learning to work with leavened dough that holds you back. But the dough for bhatura is simple.

That’s great Anthony! It took me the entire weekend to fix my template the way I want it, and there’s still much work to be done.

I went ahead and experimented with the pooris Just cudnt resist it, and with a bandh here, had lots of free time.

Just finished lunch - poori, aloo bhaaji , onion salad (with just salt , black pepper and nimbu dressing) and aam ka aachar! Slurrrrrrrp!!!!!

Ohhh!! Puri, bhaaji and aam ka achar, I’m in heaven!
