Try the cabbage kootu sometime. I like the cabbage koottu than any other way...

Here is the recipe:
Ingredients:
Jeera - 1/2 tsp
Red chillies - 2 to 3
Black Pepper - 10 corns
Shredded coconut - a heaped spoonful
Khas(a) Khas(a) - 1/2 tsp
Rice - 1 tsp
Toor dal - 3 to 4 tbsp
Mint (coriander) - to garnish

1) Cook the toor dal
2) Shred/chop fine the cabbage, wash it and boil it with salt and water (using less water is very important or the koottu would turn watery. the consistency of the koottu is what makes it tasty). Also, draining excess water might take away all the good stuff.
3) While the cabbage is boiling, dry roast the chillies, pepper, rice, khasa khasa, jeera and coconut (add finally or it gets burnt) and grind them
4) When the cabbage is cooked, add the ground masala and after a few minutes the cooked dal
5) Let it cook for a while till the masala smell goes away and switch it off
6) Garnish with coriander.

goes well with rice/sambhar rice/curd rice or even roti.

Hey I happen to like cabbage! Good recipe to add to my stock. I have found that the frozen peas here are too sweet. Is there any specific brand you buy? Or do you like the sweetness?
